The list below are general areas that women may specialize in and seek job opportunities in a multitude of industries. These somewhat “general” certifications open the door to a variety of jobs that can be remote. Most of these require the standard education/professional experience requirements, the certification may be a perk or would add to the experience of an individual who may just be entering the field.
Certified Professional Coder (Medical Coding)
Description: Evaluate a patient’s medical chart to convert/assign alphanumeric code (based on the national classification system) for each diagnosis and/or procedure
Certified Information Systems Security Professional
Description: Provide oversight of an organization’s computer network system – plan and execute measure to protect against security threats and cyber attacks.
Description: Maintain the organization’s software, develop new applications, modify or debug, monitor the performance, as well as ensure security measures are in place.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Description: Provide oversight of projects – plan, budget (forecast), allocate assignments (if applicable), track performance, ensure major milestones are met, close out project.
Description: Dispenses prescription medication by reviewing and interpreting physician orders – identifies drug incompatibilities, and provides consultation services on medication (uses, doses, and effects)
Description: Evaluates business processes for performance improvement services, conflict resolution, strategy implementation – analyzes business needs and requirements against the demands of the market/competitors
